I recently shared with you all of the new announcements that came from D23 Expo for the updates to the Parks in Walt Disney World, today I will share with you all of the updates that will take place in Disneyland.
Disneyland Enhancements
There were many announcements made about the changes coming to Walt Disney World’s attractions, transportation and lodging, but there are also great changes coming to Disneyland as well.
Attractions
- The Star Wars Themed now named Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be opened on the West Coast first in 2019. This land will be intensely interactive and will put you in the middle of a battle between the Resistance and the First Order. They also showed how the land will feel with a fly through video. What is especially exciting is your experience on the Millennium Falcon ride. Your actions will affect your experience throughout the land. So take that into consideration for who you may encounter after your mission is over.
- I think the biggest announcement is Marvel Land coming to Disney California Adventure. The park guests will team up with their favorite super heros along with several one-of-a-kind experiences in the park. With the success of the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! this summer, there’s no doubt a Marvel Land will be another huge success for Disney. Spider-Man and The Avengers will be the main themes of this park.
- Paradise Pier in California Adventure will now become Pixar Pier and will open in 2018. There will be a brand new look to the Pier and you can see your favorite characters from “The Incredibles”, “Inside Out”, and “Toy Story.”
- Cars Land at California Adventure will now have a Haul-O-Ween theme coming this fall, including decorations and Cars in Halloween costumes. Guests are also encouraged to attend in costume.
Parades and Fireworks
-
- Fantasmic! In Mickey’s Dreams, will be back for the 62nd anniversary of Disneyland and guests of the D23 Expo were given fastpasses to view the special showing times of this pyrotechnic spectacular before it is open to the public on July 17, 2017.
So there you have it, all the changes coming to Disneyland as announced at the D23 Expo. Next up will be the news released about the new movies and video games so stay tuned for more exciting news!
