We need to make some changes to our food in our home. I needed to find easy air fryer heart-healthy meal ideas, especially for my husband. And I’m tired of scrambling around at the last minute to thaw out something for dinner at 7:00 at night!
I found five heart-healthy meals that will be easy to make for a family of four with a very busy schedule. You can toss them in the air fryer to help make the dinner pre quick and easy. I also created the shopping lists to go with each recipe that you can download and print out. Enjoy!
1. Air Fryer Lemon Garlic Salmon with Asparagus
Air Fryer Lemon Garlic Salmon
- 4 salmon filets
- 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

In a small bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.

Brush salmon fillets with the garlic oil mixture.
-
Place salmon and asparagus in the air fryer basket. Arrange lemon slices on top of the salmon.

Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and asparagus is tender.

Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Air Fryer Chicken and Veggie Stir-Fry
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 red onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp ginger powder
- salt and pepper to taste

Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, combine chicken, bell peppers, zucchini, and onion.

Add olive oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, ginger powder, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly.

Place the chicken and vegetables in the air fryer basket.
-
Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.

Serve over brown rice or quinoa for a complete meal.

3. Air Fryer Turkey Meatballs with Zucchini Noodles
Air Fryer Turkey Meatballs with Zucchini Noodles
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1/2 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- salt and pepper to taste
- 4 medium zucchinis, spiralized into noodle
- 1 cup marinara sauce (low-sodium)

Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, mix ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Form the mixture into 16 meatballs.

Place meatballs in the air fryer basket in a single layer.

Cook for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the meatballs are cooked through.

While the meatballs are cooking, lightly sauté the zucchini noodles in a pan with a bit of olive oil until just tender.

Serve the meatballs over the zucchini noodles with marinara sauce on top.

4. Air Fryer Stuffed Bell Peppers
Air Fryer Stuffed Bell Peppers
- 4 large bell peppers, tops cut off and seeds removed
- 1 lb lean ground beef or turkey
- 1 cup cooked quinoa
- 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup corn kernels (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup diced tomatoes (fresh or canned)
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded low-fat cheese (optional)

Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, mix ground beef or turkey, cooked quinoa, black beans, corn, diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Stuff each bell pepper with the mixture.

Place the stuffed peppers in the air fryer basket.

Cook for 15-20 minutes, until the peppers are tender and the filling is cooked through.

If using cheese, sprinkle it on top of the peppers and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until melted.

Serve immediately.

5. Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas

- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 red onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Whole wheat tortillas
- Fresh lime, cut into wedges
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)

Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, combine the sliced chicken, bell peppers, and red onion.

In a small bowl, mix olive oil, chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

Pour the spice mixture over the chicken and vegetables, tossing to coat evenly.

Place the chicken and vegetables in the air fryer basket in a single layer.

Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.

Warm the whole wheat tortillas in a pan or microwave.

Serve the chicken and vegetables in the tortillas. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the top and garnish with chopped cilantro if desired.
